Definition
of Y2K Compliance
(Courtesy
of IBM)
A product is Y2K ready if the product, when used in accordance
with its associated documentation, is capable of correctly
processing, providing and/or receiving date data within and
between the 20th and 21st centuries, provided all other products
(for example, software, hardware and firmware) used with the
product properly exchange accurate date data with it.
Interscan
Products
All
Interscan products, with the exception of the DOS-based Arc-Max®
data acquisition system, are Y2K compliant.
A
new, fully compliant version of Arc-Max, called Arc-Max®
2000, will be available by Spring, 1999. All current users
of Arc-Max® are encouraged to contact
us, to negotiate a special price for the new release.
Interestingly,
our other data logging products, which use the CX-5 interface,
and consist of the 5000 Series Dosimeters (discontinued in 1993)
and 7000 Series Data Logging Compact Portable Analyzers, are
compliant. This series of products is compliant because elapsed
time rather than real time is logged. Thus, assuming that the
host computer is Y2K compliant, the CX-5 software will function
with no problems.
Interscan
Internal Operations
We
have tested all software used in our accounting, personnel,
production, sales, and service departments. All software is
Y2K compliant, and we are fully confident that when January
1, 2000 arrives, we will be able to continue to satisfy all
customer and vendor requirements.
